Please save us! October, 2023- Mitch and I decided to sell KanVan, our EKKO Winnebago RV. We saw the country, were attacked by flies, met terrific people, and learned how to work a cassette toilet, and it was time to move on, literally. We agreed that if we were to travel by road, a rental RV would be our solution. And then….
OPEN HOUSE
Driving along the road, Mitch and I noticed a really cool RV for sale. “C’mon, Let’s check it out!” I said. I know, I know ~ we are done with RV ownership. Well, I guess we can take a look – kind of like visiting an open house.
Let’s just see….
WOW
We walked in and were dazzled (I’m sure Mitch would not like that description, so let’s say I was dazzled; he was impressed). Feeling that excitement of possibly owning another RV was intense. I thought I was done with all that. Yet, walking into a spacious, but not too big, cabin with all the lovely amenities brought me back to the RV lifestyle.
I had a yen to try this again. First, there was room to walk—that’s a bonus. Next, the RV had shelves and built-in drawers – I had more underwear than drawer space in KanVan! Next, I inspected the authentic closet with a rod for hangers and floor space for shoes! KanVan had room for three plastic drawers, which did not work for me. I stashed my shoes in many locations to avoid Mitch’s raised eyebrows and voice. He asked, “Do you really need more than two pairs of shoes for eight weeks?”

The RV had two electric reclining chairs—Yep, just my hubby and I elevating our feet up to watch SMART TV or read. The TV across from the chairs was a slide-up – only there when we pushed a button. Nice touch…

To the right of the chairs was a loft bed for grandchildren. Oh, I can see them now jumping from the bed to the lazy-boy chair to the stairs to a broken leg—okay, stop ruminating.

The kitchen was roomy and had pantry space.

Yeah, Took That From the Website
The rig is a Ford F550 4×4 chassis and is ready to go anywhere, and the all-terrain tires with HiSpec matte black aluminum rims enhance the appearance. (HAH! I stole that right from the website) – my descriptive version is a 550 Ford with 4-wheel drive – yup, like driving a big-ass truck. The salesman was very eager to fit us into this rig. He said he would send us a ton of information via text and email.
Perhaps
Mitch and I eventually left the RV and drove home. What was that all about? I asked. Are we looking to start all over?
Perhaps…
PS- I still haven’t heard from the salesman; possibly, he wasn’t as eager as I thought.

Just touring the RV seems to lit a spark in you… started a new chapter… if not now, perhaps later. Enjoy wherever life takes you, Linda xx
Thank you, Linda! Whether we rent or buy, I do hope we go out again!!! 😁
It is gorgeous! Another chapter? Where would you go? If you didn’t get it, what is your plan ? Either way, you have great options!
Thank you! We still have three states that we haven’t seen the national parks. Utah, California, and more of Arizona.
We would love to go to Alaska via car since we don’t like to fly, but who knows
We are also considering renting …
Thanks for reading, Debbie ❤️
That looked like a dream RV, Vickie! I can see why you were dazzled. Looks better than some beginner homes too, these days! Maybe it’s a sign you didn’t hear back from the salesman, and that there’s a different adventure that lies ahead for you and Mitch!
thanks, Ab- I think you may be right! Some people are reminding me why we gave up on our first RV. Don’t do it!
So maybe not hearing back is a good thing!
